"Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, Yet He gives His grace [His undeserved favor] to the humble [those who give up self-importance]."Proverbs 3:34 AMP

God hates pride and scoffs at scoffers. He deals with scoffers according to their folly. A scoffer is an arrogant, haughty person who acts with pride.

The Bible says that God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Your Wealthy Place is the place of grace. It is the place where God is first and supreme.

Your Wealthy Place is a place of humility, total surrender to God, and self-sacrifice. Our theme text says that God gives His grace to the humble, those who give up self-importance. In Your Wealthy Place, that's where you recognise that you are who you are solely because of the grace of God.

In Psalm 10:17 (NKJV), the Bible says, "LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear."

Humility is exactly what God was teaching the children of Israel in the wilderness to prepare them for the Promised Land. He wanted them to learn to trust and rely entirely on Him.

Before God takes us to a place of responsibility and great success, He wants us to learn humility so that when we become prosperous, we do not credit our success to ourselves. Before God opens certain doors in your life, He requires that you understand true humility. It is through acquiring this understanding that He begins to prepare you for those doors to open.

The first step towards learning the ways of humility is having a true revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. No person who has ever walked this earth is as humble as the Lord Jesus Christ.

The second step is hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and allowing yourself to be led by Him. He must be in charge of all your decision-making, how you run your family affairs and how you spend your finances.

The third step is cultivating a lifestyle of prayer. A habitual prayer life is a primary indicator of true humility and absolute dependence upon God (1 Peter 5:6-7).

Lastly, you must meditate on the Word of God and do what it says, not just selecting what you like and leaving out what you do not.

If you do these things, you will walk in great power and rule on this earth. Watch out for pride; it is a deadly disease that has destroyed marriages, businesses, careers, ministries, and lives. Glory to God!

Receive Jesus Today: If you are not born again, salvation is available for you. Jesus died to give everlasting life to whoever believes in Him. If you want to receive Jesus today, right now, make this prayer audibly (Romans 10:9-10): "Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me on the Cross. I believe that God raised you from the dead on the third day. Today I receive Your Life. I make you my Lord and my Saviour. Fill me with your Spirit to overflow. I thank you that I am born again. Amen!"

Spiritual insight

Your Wealthy Place is the place of humility and grace. God resists the proud but gives undeserved favor to those who give up self-importance.

Reflection

Which of the four steps to humility do you most need to grow in: revelation of Jesus, hearing the Holy Spirit, a lifestyle of prayer, or doing all the Word says?

Prayer

Father, I thank You for teaching me the ways of humility and for giving me an understanding of my Wealthy Place. I renounce pride in all its forms and embrace humility in all its facets. Because of this wisdom, every door is wide open to me. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
