"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."John 3:16 NKJV
Our God is loving and very generous. He takes pleasure and delight in blessing us with the abundance of all things. He is the God who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
The first lesson every new believer must receive when they get saved is to know and understand the love of God. If a new believer is taught other things but not the love of God, he or she will always fall short in their walk with God.
The second thing a new believer must be taught is to understand the generosity of God from the context of John 3:16. When you know that God loves you, there will be no doubt that He will supply all your needs. The love of God is understood from the fact that God gave us His only begotten Son Jesus to die a cruel death for our sins. He gave us His best to demonstrate His love toward us.
Romans 8:32 says that if God did not withhold His only begotten Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? When you know God loves you, and that He cannot withhold anything from you, you begin to see Him not only as a good God, but also as a generous God.
God is very generous. That's what His grace is all about. God's love manifests His grace, and His grace manifests His generosity. The reason every new believer must understand God's love and generosity is so they can depend on Him and grow to be like Him.
The only reason a Christian would struggle with giving is that they do not have an understanding or revelation of how generous our God is. Take time and meditate on the love of God, and His generosity will start flowing through you. Praise the Lord!
God's love manifests His grace, and His grace manifests His generosity. You will only give as freely as you have received.
Where have you been living like a hired servant instead of a beloved son or daughter of a generous Father?
Father God, thank You for Your love that is manifested in Your generosity. Thank You for demonstrating how much You love me through the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ. As a Believer, I live a generous life because I experience Your generosity in my life daily. In the Name of Jesus, Amen!
